CUB Celebrates with the Street Pride Team

18th Oct 2016

We were delighted to be guests of the Fenland District Council’s 2016 Street Pride Celebration Evening in recognition of our community work for March in Bloom and March Street Pride. We are proud of our local town and want to be part of the team that consistently helps to make it a better place to live and work. Our mantra is ‘if you want to make a change then you have to get involved’ and that’s exactly what we did.

The scheme has gained a lot of support by some major organisations such as Tesco and Sainsbury and we are proud to be the only business to have rolled up their sleeves to get physically involved! We want to help make March safer, cleaner and greener and continue to participate in a variety of projects.

We were one of over 100 volunteers invited to the drinks reception and dinner held by Fenland District Council who conducted an awards ceremony. We are delighted to say that March Street Pride won the Best Partnership Project award and we are honoured to have been part of a team that helped make that happen.

Since April 2016 there have been over 100 community events from litter picking to taking care of neglected areas and buildings. There are over 12 street pride groups in the Fenland area who work tirelessly in their spare time making their local area a better place to live. With all the celebrations and fun over, the hard work is set to continue!
