Rob and Louis Get Stepping
At CUB UK we always like to help out a charitable cause. Louis Fairfax, Managing Director and Robert Halstead, Head of Business Development have done their bit for charity.
They have both raised money for ACT (Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust) and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Both of them have done a 23 mile sponsored walk to raise money to help new born babies in hospital. That is an overall 46 mile walk, which is an extremely tough challenge.
The reason behind their enthusiasm is because Rob is a father and Louis is soon to be a dad and as parents they understand the need to give a child the best start in life. They believe that every child needs tender love and care.
This charity is close to their hearts and so they decided to set themselves a difficult challenge whilst trying to raise money for the trust.
On 6th September they embarked on their 23 mile journey which took 6hours and 57minutes. Afterwards they felt tired and quite footsore. Rob said “We started off very well; we only stopped once for a 10 minute break and got back on trekking. The last two miles were really tough and I was really exhausted afterwards. However, it is for a fabulous cause so all the pain was for a worthwhile gain and it’s great that we have raised some money to help them out.”
So far they have both raised £391.50, which is a fantastic amount and should help the charity a long way. They are still asking for people to donate to their Virgin Money Giving pages so they can raise as much money as possible.
