BoomBizzTM is a fast paced, hands-on, energetic business simulation which encourages enterprise and business skills. Amber, Andrew and Rebecca from CUB (UK) went along to Neale Wade Academy on the 3rd December to help the Skills Service deliver this exciting project.
The staff from CUB® really enjoyed the day:
“This was my first time volunteering for any type of team building event however I attended BoomBizz and really enjoyed it, so much that I would definitely volunteer the next time! I found the whole atmosphere very exciting, I feel the students were expecting for it to be ‘a boring event’ where as at the end of it they was all very hyped and loved it! It was very fascinating to see how the students reacted at the beginning of the event and the difference towards the end. You could tell the students were trying very hard to begin with and couldn’t find the problem with what they was building for me acting as their customer – Once the students found out what they were doing wrong with the product you could see how much they were concentrating and how well they worked as a team with other students they may of never spoke to before. I think the students learnt a lot from the event.” – Rebecca Billimore
“It was my second time helping out at Boombiz and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first. The whole atmosphere is really nice its fast pace, fun and exciting. It’s interesting watching the students get into the game and REALLY trying to figure it out – towards the end when they figured out the idea of the game it was good to see them working as a team as at the beginning it was more of a free-for-all. I would be more than happy to volunteer to help out for Boombizz again.” – Amber Mount
The feedback from the school and The Skills Service made it all worthwhile:
“I thought that yesterday was excellent. - thank you for your hard work and input into what was an invaluable experience for our children”. (from Jason Wing – the Principal)
“Can I reiterate my thanks for yesterday to you and your team. The feedback from staff is that the students were ’buzzing’ from the activity. Certainly something I would like to repeat another year”. (from Sam Mandley – Assistant Principal)
“I just want to thank you again for supporting our BoomBizz event at Neale-Wade school yesterday. We have had tremendous feedback from the school. Thank you for being involved - we really could not deliver these vital employability events without the support of organisations like yours.” – Katie Hart – The Skills Service
