Codes of practice for commercial energy brokers
Ofgem is in the process of developing a code of practice to regulate commercial energy brokers and consultancies around energy supply.
The practice sets out standards that seek to define a professional and honest service, requirements for transparency of information and more detail around fee structures and monitoring.
The Code of Practice is important for TPIs like CUB UK as it covers everything from the third parties we work with, to how we protect our client data, supply contracts and handle any complaints.
Commercial energy brokers need to be able to show their clients that they’re working to the highest possible standards, especially in what’s becoming an increasingly competitive market place.
The TPI Code of Practice is important to us, and our business, as it’s a valued commitment to best practice that stands us a part from the competition. It means we’re subject to rigorous standards, mystery shopping and inspections to ensure our commercial energy brokers are doing all they can to deliver a great service.
